Thank you for signing in to my fundraising page for Riverfront Rowing!

This season, I again, am a member of Riverfront’s high school rowing program. The team has approximately 100 rowers and coxswains from 11 particiating high schools in the Hartford area.  We practice 5 days a week after school on the Connecticut River in Hartford and race on the weekends in Hartford, Worcester, Boston, and Saratoga Springs.  Over the past ten years, many high school members have gone on to row for colleges, such as, Trinity, Notre Dame, Syracuse, University of Connecticut, and Yale.  This program encompasses indiviual growth, strength, endurance, and working in a team effort in order to succeed.

The beautiful Riverfront boathouse, building utility fees, and staff salaries are funded by the Riverfront Recapture organization. However, most of the equipment is purchased through fundraising efforts.  Much of Riverfront's equipment needs to be retired - many sets of oars need to be replaced and a number of boats being used are older than the kids on the team (outdated boats from 1985, 1993, 1994, and 1998 are still being used!).

The money we raise will be used to purchase oars ($350 each), coxswain microphones ($600 each), ergs ($900 each), and boats ($17,500 to 32,000 each) for our team.
